Najim Arshad who became singer through a popular reality show for singers made his debut as singer through Major Ravi`s Mammootty starrer Mission 90 days` based on Rajiv Gandhi Assassination and the hunt for the culprits. After that he didn`t need to look back, his songs always became part of the hit chart.

According to the latest reports he will debut as music director through the latest flick of Major Ravi titled 1971 – Beyond Borders which is a war franchise movie based on the character Major Mahadevan essayed by Mohalal in its earlier parts. Najim will be one of the three music directors in the film. The other two music directors are Sidharth Vipin and Rahul Subramanian. The singer turned music director will be composing a Hindi song for the film.
